Sierra Analytics' Polymerix™ software understands polymer mass spectrometry. Polymerix provides sophistocated tools for homopolymer composition analysis and deconvolution of homopolymer mixtures. 

For each homologous series in a homopolymer mixture, Polymerix computes the following results: 

• Number average molecular weight

• Weight average molecular weight

• Third order molecular weight moment

• Polydispersity

• Degree of polymerization (average repeat count)  

Polymerix also calculates a complete assignment of spectral features to individual series components, and presents these results in complementary graphical and tabular forms. Both graphical and tabular results can be exported for use with word processing, spreadsheet, or database programs.

Other processing options include:

• Sum multiple mass spectra from a chromatogram

• Detect peaks with baseline correction or process in continuum mode

• Merge split peaks in noisy spectra

• Correct mass calibration problems

• Process in monoisotopic, chemical, or nominal mass modes

• Autocorrelate for repeat mass and end group prediction

• Deisotope (isotope correction)

Polymerix directly reads chromatographic and spectral data in various formats, including Applied Biosystems Data Explorer, Micromass MassLynx, Bruker XMASS, and ThermoFinnigan Xcalibur. Polymerix can also import mass spectra in ASCII peak list format for compatibility with other data systems.

Polymerix is available for Intel-based (or compatible) computers running Windows XP, Windows 2000 or Windows NT 4.0, and requires a network interface card. Both individual PC and site licenses are available. Please contact Sierra Analytics for pricing.
